Did you know that our infant feeding support line continues to be open every day of the year during the pandemic, providing support to new parents?
When it comes to feeding – breastfeeding, bottle feeding or a bit of both – we know how physically and emotionally challenging it can be. It can take time to feel confident about feeding your baby. If you need information, support or just someone to talk to, give one of our trained breastfeeding counsellors a call on 0300 330 0700* (option 1).
The infant feeding line is open every day from 8am to midnight, including bank holidays. Our hard-working breastfeeding counsellors even answered calls on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. What’s more, you don’t have to be an NCT member to call.
You’ll speak to one of our amazing breastfeeding counsellors. They’ve had extensive training and will use their person-centred counselling skills to support you. This includes listening to you without judging or criticising and offering relevant information and suggestions.
Here’s what just a couple of mums who called the infant feeding line told us.
“I just called the infant feeding line, got through to someone immediately who was very kind, supportive and helpful. I didn’t realise how alone I had felt with the issue until she offered such well targeted support. It wasn’t a big issue, but her support has really helped, and it is great to know the line is there if I have any further questions. Thank you.”
“Just wanted to say thank you. Have been trying to contact my health visitor for the past few days and have been unable to speak to them. Called the feeding helpline and was able to talk through some worries and concerns that had been building up. As a first time mum I feel so lucky that this service is available especially at the moment when I am unable to speak to other mums for advice and guidance.
Thank you,” Alix.
Although we try and answer as many calls as possible, if you don’t get through please leave a message and one of our breastfeeding counsellors will always call you back.

During lockdown, our infant feeding line has been more vital than ever. With less access to antenatal groups, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic means it’s an even more emotional and isolating time for new mums and dads. We need your help to ensure we can be there to give valuable support and guidance when it’s needed most. Please donate today to help keep it running.
