Our West Norfolk Clothes Bank were gifted a bumper lot of toys for Christmas from a metal detecting group. Find out more.
Just before Christmas, The Fen Diggers Metal Detecting Group were holding a sponsored event, and wanted to use the money raised to buy toys for local charities to distribute.
Kat Whitmore from NCT West Norfolk contacted the group, who were happy to donate a large amount of new toys and some good quality, pre-loved toys to our West Norfolk Clothes Bank.
Their generous donation meant that a toy, as well as a wrapped toy, could be put into bundles for local families on Christmas Day.
Thanks again to The Fen Diggers Metal Detecting Group!
The West Norfolk Clothes Bank also received a large donation of toys from a Christmas Toy Appeal ran by Radio West Norfolk and Your Local Paper.
The toys were bought by shoppers and added to trolley collection points in supermarkets, then the local radio station and newspaper collected and distributed them to chosen charities and organisations in the area. We received around 40 toys and books from them, enabling us to give more presents over the festive and new year period.
The West Norfolk Clothes Bank are now looking for clothes for babies and young children, especially brand new underwear and socks, as well as other specific items and sizes. They have a Wish List of currently needed items so if you’d like to donate, please get in touch with NCT West Norfolk Clothes Bank on Facebook.
You can get involved in activities in your area by getting in touch with your local NCT group on Facebook or taking a look here.
