This week is Babyloss Awareness Week, and on Sunday 15 October, people who’ve experienced bereavement during pregnancy and after their baby was born are encouraged to join the global Wave of Light event in remembrance of babies who have died.
This week is Baby Loss Awareness Week, a week of focus and reflection for bereaved parents to remember their baby’s lives. It provides them with a safe space to come together as a community, share their story if they wish, and support each other.
At the end of the week, at 7pm on Sunday 15 October, parents are encouraged to join the global Wave of Light event by lighting a candle to remember babies who have died. You can also share online using the #BLAW and #waveoflight tags.
You can find out more about the week and Wave of Light on the Baby Loss Awareness website.
During Baby Loss Awareness Week, midwife Alicia Burnett will be hosting a series of Instagram Lives around pregnancy loss and baby loss for Black women and people. Check them out @blackbabylossawareness
