Last weekend, not only did we get involved in a huge volunteering initiative across the UK, but one of our fantastic volunteers was crowned a Coronation Champion.
As part of the King’s Coronation celebrations, NCT took part in The Big Help Out – an initiative to give people opportunities to volunteer across the UK.
Thousands of organisations and charities posted available slots for volunteers to take part, offering a taster of volunteering in their communities, no matter how much time they had.
On the app, there were lots of chances to help our NCT volunteers, from Walk & Talks to NCT Nearly New Sales. What’s more, there are still lots of opportunities to volunteer with NCT – download the app to find out how.
We’re always in awe of the amazing work our volunteers do, and we were so proud to see one of our long-serving volunteers honoured as a Coronation Champion.
Alice Duckworth was one of 500 volunteers across the UK and Channel Islands to be chosen as a Champion for the King’s Coronation.
Alice leads our volunteer group in West Sussex and has volunteered with NCT since 2017. She oversees the Little Bundles baby bank, an initiative providing essential items for parents and children across Chichester and Arun. It completes on average 10-14 referrals every single week.
Alice gives up hours of her time to write grant applications, recruit volunteers and ensure the baby bank runs smoothly. She makes sure everyone who is in need, gets what they need.
Congratulations to Alice for this achievement and thanks for all your hard work!
Without volunteers who give their time to NCT, we wouldn’t be able to support parents in local communities. Register your interest in volunteering today.
Our amazing volunteers run Bumps and Babies groups, Walks & Talks and other fun activities right across the UK and Channel Islands. You don’t have to be an NCT member to go along. See what’s happening in your area here.
