Over 4,500 volunteers help NCT to deliver vital services that support parents, their families and communities in local towns and cities in every region of the UK and Channel Islands.
Volunteers’ Week took place from 1 to 7 June this year and it was a fantastic opportunity for us to celebrate the important work of our volunteers and recognise their contributions to our charity.
From running Walk & Talks to Bumps and Babies groups and Nearly New Sales, they work tirelessly to support and connect parents across the UK. We couldn’t do what we do without them!
As ever this Volunteers Week, we wanted to say thank you to our volunteers across the four nations. Over the week, our team were delighted to speak to volunteers and thank them for all they do.
This year, there was extra cause for celebration as Volunteers’ Week fell over the Platinum Jubilee bank holiday weekend, with a national Thank You Day being celebrated on Sunday 5 June.
We also featured individual volunteers on our social media channels to explain what the day of a volunteer might entail, and showing just how much volunteers do to support parents.
One of these volunteers was Andrew, who leads Walk & Talks for dads as well as being a treasurer for NCT Doncaster. Watch him talking about how he got involved with volunteering and what he does here.
We’re so proud of all our volunteers. If you’ve been inspired to lend your time, you can register your interest in volunteering here: bit.ly/NCTVolunteering
Volunteers run groups and meet ups for parents far and wide. Take a look at our activities finder to see if there’s one near you.
