We’re delighted to be part of The Heather Trickey essay prize. Through her research and advocacy, Dr Heather Trickey did so much to make the experiences of pregnant women and new parents better before she sadly passed away last month.
Heather was part of our NCT community for over 17 years, during which time she was a Research Manager, Breastfeeding Counsellor and most recently a Trustee. She was also a Research Fellow at Cardiff University.
In celebration of Heather’s life and work, NCT has come together with BPAS – co-founder of WRISK and one of her longstanding collaboration parters – to create the Heather Trickey Essay Prize.
The prize of £1000 will be awarded for an original piece of work addressing any topic in the field of women’s reproductive health.
Jessica Figueras, our current Chair of Trustees, said: “We’re really proud to have created this essay prize with our beloved friend and colleague Heather.
“We hope it will inspire the next generation of researchers to build on her groundbreaking work in women’s reproductive health and rights, which has been a strong influence on NCT’s infant feeding policy and practice.”
