We’re delighted to say that the fantastic work by the West Midlands branch supporting local parents has been recognised with a National Lottery grant.
A huge congratulations to NCT Southam & Villages for their incredible work securing a £10,000 grant from the National Lottery’s Awards for All.
They plan to use the money to train new Breastfeeding Peer Supporters, who will be on hand to support mums at their existing Bumps and Babies groups. It will also fund a Breastfeeding Counsellor to attend a breastfeeding drop in.
The branch also runs a successful sling library!
Peer Supporters are volunteers who have often themselves in the past been supported by Breastfeeding Counsellors or Breastfeeding Peer Supporters and want to give something back.
During the pandemic, the groups weren’t able to meet in the local community centre and instead the branch volunteers ran Walk & Talks so parents could meet.
