If you’re a working parent or on maternity leave from work, you’ll know that it’s not always easy to find the right balance between your job and having a family. Being able to work flexibly is something that can greatly benefit mums and dads.
That’s why we’re supporting the Hire Me My Way campaign, which aims to persuade more employers to offer part-time and flexible arrangements, from the point of hire.
Over half of UK employees currently work part-time or flexibly, but less than 1 in 10 job ads offer this. Because there’s so much competition for such a small number of jobs, people are frequently forced to take lower paid roles to get the flexibility they need. Some abandon their careers altogether.
